Hi David,
(I tried your Email address but it didn’t work, so I’m posting this as a comment)
Schools – How old are your kids? I only know about the Religious public school since that is where my son goes. From what I was told by my wife there are a variety of Special Ed ganim here for a variety of disabilities. and the the school also has Special Ed classes for almost all the grades. They do a lot of integration too. I can try and get more information for you. If it’s OK with you, I’ll pass this email over to the Aliyah Coordinator, Reuven Franks and he might have better answers. (You can also contact Reuven directly at

We have all 4 medical clinics here in Ariel, Macabbi, Meuchedet, Clalait and Leumit, my family uses Macabbi, mainly because when we made Aliyah that was the closest one to our house.

Regarding apartments – When we were looking to rent we used a site called (Here is a direct link to the Ariel page ) How is your hebrew, the site is all in Hebrew, and the link I sent you didn’t drill down for rooms, kind of apartments or anything like that, just everything that’s available. If you need any help, I’d be more than happy to help out either with the Hebrew or the different areas of Ariel. I have some friends who have been using a Realtor, I can get you that information if you need.

I ended up signing my son for baseball in Karnei Shomron, which is about 20 minutes from Ariel because I just couldn’t start a team here right now. Although I do pitch to him and play in the park when I can.

If you have any more questions don’t hesitate to send me an Email (shaulizacks AT and I’ll answer it or find an answer as best I can. Another resource that we have is a pretty active Yahoo group, called Ariel Aliyah where you can join the group ask questions. There is a Facebook group as well, but it’s not quite as active.

Best of luck to you and your family
